Your personal background.
I am a physicist and astronomer by education, and an engineer by profession.

It is understandable that we who live on this planet should be deceived by the local abundance of life, and the wherewithal for life, into thinking that what is rare is common and what is precious is cheap. It will be an act of historic vandalism to precipitate a mass extinction because we choose not to do now what we will later be obliged to do anyway.
Your opinions about BBC Climate Change Experiment
A point will no doubt come when the uncomfortable future impinges upon the comfortable present - and things will then be done to restore the comforts lost, if that is then possible; meanwhile, simulation is a part of what can be done, with its ability to bring into a safe numerical present some of the awkwardness of the future, the past, the distant and the downright dangerous.

As for the BBC: it is hard to imagine any other broadcasting organisation attracting so many different people to participate in an effort so fundamentally decent.
